Replay: Build A POD Empire With AI - From 0 To 290,000+ Products

Transcript:

Hello everybody,

I'm so excited to talk to you all today! I wish I could be there in Paris with you, but it's a bit far from my home in Thailand. I want to thank Don for inviting me. Even though I can't be there in person, I'm happy to share my story with you. I'll show you how I used AI to build my print-on-demand empire, and guess what? It only takes a few minutes of work each week. I hope you find it interesting and fun!

Alright, let me introduce myself first. My name is Bank. Yes, Bank! It's a pretty common name in Thailand. I've been an internet marketer since 2008. I started by building lots of niche websites and making money with Google AdSense and Amazon Affiliate.

I even wrote some scripts to automate and build tons of websites before Google slapped all of them overnight. Those were the good old days of making money on the internet—it was very easy.

After that, I promoted many affiliate offers using PPV traffic. That was the first time I learned about paid traffic.

In 2014, I discovered Don’s FB Ad Crack and began my print-on-demand journey.

I've sold tons of POD products with Facebook Ads. I started on Teespring but later built my own Shopify store. There have been many ups and downs because Facebook Ads change a lot, and we always have to adapt our strategies.

As you all know, before 2020, Facebook Ads were very cheap, and we could sell tons of t-shirts or mugs easily. You could write a simple ad to promote any t-shirt and make lots of money because the cost per click was very low back then. I'm Thai, and I wrote many ads with bad grammar but still sold tons of t-shirts, lol.

But as Facebook Ads became more mainstream, everyone started using them, and the cost increased a lot. We had to step up our game and be more strategic. We needed better products, better ads, better sales funnels, and we had to learn how to increase the average order value and create repeat sales.

It still works, but it's not as easy as it used to be.

I was aware of this when I made good money with Facebook ads, as I had seen tons of my niche websites get slapped by Google overnight before. I knew I shouldn't put all my eggs in one basket. So while I was easily selling tons of print-on-demand products using Facebook ads, I started building my print-on-demand business on Amazon in my spare time as well.

Selling POD on Amazon is easier because Amazon already has tons of visitors to its website every day. We just need to capture a fraction of that traffic to our products and make sales from free traffic. It's more stable, too, since I've been doing this for many years. Today, I'm going to share how I built my Amazon print-on-demand store from ZERO to 290,000 products in the past few years.

I'll show you how you can do the same, and it's now much easier and cheaper thanks to AI.

Alright, let’s dive in!

Okay, let's start with an overview.

These are the kinds of products I sell on Amazon: white coffee mugs, black coffee mugs, travel mugs, shot glasses, tumblers, bracelets, ornaments—you name it.

I have tons of them on Amazon. I have coffee mugs, shot glasses, travel mugs, bracelets, necklaces, in tons of family niches, profession niches, dog niches, cat niches, Christian niches, and many other different niches.

I need fractions of traffic from these tiny niches. I don't need my products to be at the top ranking of the big niches like mom or dad. It’s difficult.

I can make good money if I have some products in the top rank of small niches like welder, chiropractor, Akita, Siamese cat, and other 100 tiny niches combined. And it’s way easier.

Now, if you check out the designs on these products, you'll see they're really simple. It’s just text-based designs.

In fact, all you need to do is pick any font, type out a quote, and center it. That’s it. Nothing fancy, just text on the products.

You might be wondering if these simple designs actually sell. Well, they do.

In fact, these straightforward designs are among the top 4 rankings for this keyword. The more complicated designs are actually ranked lower.

See? It’s easy. Anyone can do it. No need for anything complex—just text.

So my strategy is to upload tons of products in many different niches with this simple text design and aim to have some good-selling products in many small niches.

Alright, and this is the process to do this easily. This slide shows what I did when I got started. I want to show you the production flow for doing this.

First, I used a tool like Gearbubble to create products and push tons of products to Amazon. I uploaded about 100-200 products a day to Amazon.

Then, when there is an order on Amazon, Gearbubble will process it, start producing the product, and ship it to my customer. I believe most of you already know this process since you're Don's followers, so I think you all understand the overview now.

Okay, so I started doing this myself for about 5-10 products, but I can't remember exactly.

You can see the process is very simple, but honestly, it gets really boring. It’s especially boring if you don’t make sales quickly.

And, with this method, you won't make sales quickly because we rely on free traffic from Amazon. It takes time. You’ll make passive sales once you have a lot of products in your Amazon account.

I knew this from the beginning, so I decided to hire two virtual assistants to help me. I paid them around $600 to upload 3,000 products a month for me.

Then, I realized the process was so simple that I thought, "Hey, why not automate it?" So, I built a tool called PODTurbo.

This tool does the same work my VAs were doing. With PODTurbo, you prepare the product data in a CSV file and upload it. You can get 1,000 or even 10,000 products ready and upload them to PODTurbo. It will then schedule the uploads to Amazon for you.

Pretty cool, right?

Alright, that's all about automation. That was before the AI era. When AI came into our lives, it changed everything. And when we mix automation with AI, it gets way cooler.

Let me give you some examples. Before using AI, I hired virtual assistants to upload tons of products for me. I would never know if they listed the products correctly unless I checked every product they uploaded. I didn’t check them because it would waste my time. Also, we would upload tons of products using tools like Gearbubble, PODTurbo, or other tools from different suppliers. Here’s the catch—most of those products didn’t have good titles, descriptions, bullet points, or keywords.

You can see an example from the top coffee mug I showed earlier. It’s a coffee mug for an Operations Manager.

Look at the product title—it mentions "Operations Manager" only once and doesn’t include any related keywords. No words like Ops, Mgr, Boss, or Coworkers that people might search for.

Now, check the bullet points on the right. They don’t mention anything about Operations Manager at all. It’s actually just a default template from Gearbubble.

The product description is the same—it doesn’t include any keywords related to Operations Manager.

And here’s the thing: 80-90% of print-on-demand products on Amazon have this kind of generic, canned-template title, description, and bullet points.

Now, imagine if we made the product title, description, and bullet points a bit better. You don’t need to be a super fancy copywriter—just add some important keywords. Your products will stand out way more than 80-90% of other print-on-demand products on Amazon.

It’s a simple fix that can make a big difference.

And today, you can do this easily with AI.

Let me introduce you to my free tool called "Jesse PODMan." Yes, it’s named after Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad—one of my favorite shows, haha. You can use it for free by entering the URL on this slide.

Here’s how it works: You just need to insert the old product title, bullet points, and description into the tool. Then, click "Execute," and it will give you a new and improved product title, bullet points, and description with all the right keywords for your products.

Let me show you how it works.

[Demo]

Alright, let's update the product title, description, and bullet points for this product.

First, I’ll copy the current title, description, bullet points, and image URL into the tool.

Let's copy this canned-template bullet point.

Canned-template description.

The new ChatGPT can now see images, so it can check the message on the product.

Then, I'll click "Execute."

Now, let’s wait a few seconds while Jesse does its magic.

Okay, all done. Let’s check out the results.

Let me zoom in so you can see better.

Look at the new title—it’s way better, right?

The description is longer and includes different keywords. The bullet points are improved, too.

And it even gives a list of keywords you can use for your product.

Alright, we don’t have much time left. You can play around with it yourself later at home.

Okay, if you break down the process, you’ll see there are five main steps: choosing niches, finding quotes, creating designs, uploading products to Amazon, and fulfilling orders.

Now, most of these steps can be done by AI. You can use AI to find a list of niches you want.

For example, if you want a list of professions, type something like "Give me the 100 top-paying professions in the US" into ChatGPT. It will give you a list of niches in a few seconds.

Finding quotes is easy too—you can ask AI to write quotes in the tone and style you want. For example, I asked AI to write 20 funny quotes for engineers. I specified that these quotes would be printed on products like coffee mugs and that people would buy them for their coworkers, friends, or family members who are engineers.

Creating designs is a bit trickier. AI isn’t great at simple text designs yet. I’m not sure why, but they often have misspellings. But it’s getting better all the time.

Uploading products and fulfilling orders can be handled by many POD automation tools like PODTurbo and Gearbubble.

So, when AI became easy to access, my team started building the new PODtomatic and used AI for as many parts as possible. Let me show you how we use AI in our SaaS.

We use AI to list tons of niches and add them to the PODtomatic system. The system then picks a niche from this list to create a product.

This means you don't have to spend hours researching which niches to target. The AI does it for you

Then there are the quotes. We use AI to write lots of funny quotes that match the niches we have. We add them to the system and categorize them by niche, so it can pick the perfect quote for each product.

This makes the process super easy. Instead of spending time coming up with quotes yourself, AI does it for you and we put it into the automation system.

For the design creation part, we don't use AI yet. Since we create simple text designs, we can get it done with a simple script.

But when creating a product for uploading to Amazon, we use AI to write the product title, description, bullet points, and keywords.

Just like the Jesse PODMan tool I showed you before, we have a similar tool. We give AI more info, like the niche, quote, and product details, so it can write a more accurate product title, description, and bullet points.

I don’t have an interface of this part to show you since it's the backend system, but it works a lot like Jesse PODMan.

Instead of showing the results on the right side like Jesse PODMan does, the text is kept in the database and used for uploading the product to Amazon.

By automating this, we ensure every product has a well-written title and description, making it more attractive to buyers. It’s another way AI makes our work easier and more efficient.

Then, when everything is ready, PODtomatic will upload products for our users every single minute.

Let me show you some products created and uploaded by PODtomatic.

Here’s a two-tone coffee mug for mothers. It uploads a coffee mug with four variations. Check out the product title—it includes keywords like "for mother," "gifts from children," and "birthday unique gifts." It even inserts the quote from the product into the title and bullet points.

The next one is a Vanilla Soy Candle for Occupational Therapists. Look at the keywords: "Occupational Therapist Gifts," "9oz Vanilla Soy Candle," "Funny Quote," "Graduation Gifts," "Gifts from Mom to Occupational Therapist," and the quote "Occupational Therapist By Day, World's Best Mom By Night." In the bullet points, AI also wrote the product details and included a message to encourage people to buy.

And here’s the product description for this candle. You can see that AI inserted the main keyword, "Occupational Therapist," several times along with gift-related keywords. The way it blends the niche keyword into the description doesn’t come across as spammy at all. It’s nicely integrated into the product description. AI also adds a call to action at the end of the description.

With the old uploading method using canned templates, we couldn't get a well-written message like this.

And here's a rope bracelet for pug lovers. This one is special because PODtomatic created and uploaded it for Father's Day. We told the system that this Pug Rope Bracelet would be sold during Father's Day, so it made sure to add keywords related to Father's Day to the product listing.

As a result, you can see keywords like "Pug Dog Lover," "Pug Rope Bracelet," "Gifts for Pug Enthusiasts," and "Father's Day Unique Gifts for Pug Dog Owners."

In the bullet points, AI wrote, "Make a heartfelt gift for the pug lover in your life" and "Perfect for Father's Day or any special occasion." It beautifully blends "Pug," "Dog Lover," "Rope Bracelet," and "Father's Day" in the product title and bullet points.

AI also adds a call to action in the last bullet point to encourage people to make the purchase.

And this is the product description for the Pug Lover Rope Bracelet for Father's Day. You can see that AI wrote a nice product description, blending the main keyword "pug dog lover." It also mentioned that this is a thoughtful gift for Father's Day and other special occasions like anniversaries or birthdays. This means the product will be searched and found not only for Father's Day but also for anniversaries and birthdays as well.

Do you think hiring virtual assistants can help you write a product title or bullet points like this? Well, maybe for a small number of products. But for thousands of products? Probably not. And if they can, it won't be cheap.

AI makes things a lot easier, more efficient, and cheaper.

Let's see one more example: this one is a tumbler. PODtomatic uploaded a tumbler with two variations, 20oz and 30oz. This tumbler is for Air Traffic Controllers with the quote, "I'm that Sexy Air Traffic Controller Everybody's Talking About."

AI wrote the product title with keywords like "Air Traffic Controller Gifts," "Funny Graduation Gifts for Air Traffic Controllers," "Tumbler, 20oz or 30oz, Stainless Steel," and "Unique Gifts for Graduation." It also included the quote in the product title.

In one bullet point, instead of just saying "it's a vacuum-insulated tumbler," it described the benefits: "keeps hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold, making it a convenient choice for busy Air Traffic Controllers on-the-go."

And again, AI wrote the product description for this tumbler very well. It inserted the keyword "Air Traffic Controller" multiple times in the description without spamming. It also added occasion keywords like "graduation" to the description. Plus, it included a call to action to help people make their decision easily.

As you can see from the examples, the product titles, bullet points, and description are very well written. AI blends the niche, product details, occasion, and quote into a beautiful and SEO-friendly product title, bullet points, and description.

I also forgot to mention that all these products have already made some sales for our users. They were uploaded just a few weeks or months before making their first sale.

I can say we get good results like this because of AI.

Anyway, AI still has some issues we need to fix with the automation. One big problem is trademarks. When AI writes the product title, description, or bullet points, it sometimes accidentally adds trademarked words like movie names, game names, university names, etc. Even though we try to guide AI to avoid this, there's no 100% foolproof way.

Amazon has become stricter about trademarks. Many of our sellers have received emails about trademark violations. This year, it's getting crazy because even general words like Girlfriend, Boyfriend, Son-in-law, new designer, or even profession names like EMT or Zookeeper are being trademarked. Words like Badass, Life is Good, and Funny Candles are trademarked too. The list keeps growing and getting crazier.

Imagine you uploaded products to Amazon years ago and they sold well without any issues. Suddenly, you get flagged for trademarks. You'd have to spend hours fixing old products. It might be easy to delete all products with the problematic word, but imagine if your candles, which are selling well, get flagged because "Candle" becomes a trademarked word. It would be a huge loss.

That's why at PodToMatic, we've created automation functions to replace these trademarked words in our existing products. We recently helped our members replace trademarked words with new ones. Instead of spending hours fixing these issues, our automation system does the work for you.

When AI combines with automation, it becomes a lot more powerful.

PODtomatic works around the clock. It does the same job my virtual assistants did but way better. It can upload a huge number of products each day.

The product titles, descriptions, and bullet points are more professional.

The best part is, it's a lot cheaper. I used to pay my virtual assistants $600 a month to upload 3,000 products. But PODtomatic can upload 6,000 products with better product details for only $150 a month.

With AI, we can reduce costs, increase production, and improve quality.

Pretty cool, right?

Let me show you the results.

Normally, this business model takes some time to make sales because we rely on the free traffic on Amazon. You need to have tons of products or some good winning FBA products in your Amazon account first to make consistent sales.

Here are the stats from my own Amazon account after using Podtomatic for about 4-5 months. So far, it has uploaded around 29,000 products for me and made 50 orders.

That’s an average of 10 orders a month. Not bad, right? Especially considering this is from the quiet period of print-on-demand.

And note that I haven't started picking some products to send to Amazon and sell them through FBA yet. If I had 5-10 products ready, I’d likely make more sales.

We usually see more sales during Q4, the big shopping season. I’ll keep you posted on how this account performs in the upcoming Q4.

Alright, that's how I build my print-on-demand business on Amazon using AI these days. I simply connect Amazon to PodToMaTic and let it upload tons of products for me. If any products start making sales, I pick some to sell through Amazon FBA. The goal is to accumulate FBA products and create a steady stream of passive income.

It’s like setting up a smart machine that works for you around the clock. You get to focus on picking the winners while the system handles the heavy lifting. It’s easy, efficient, and a lot more fun than doing it all manually!

Anyway, my presentation isn’t over yet. I didn’t just show you how I built my print-on-demand business on Amazon; I also showed you how I built PodToMatic. You saw the whole process of how PODtomatic works and how I use AI to make it much more powerful.

Since AI is so easy to access these days, I’m here to share a new opportunity with you...

The opportunity is how you can build your own AI apps and make money, even if you’re not a programmer.

Exciting, right? Alright, let’s continue to the second part of my presentation!
