How to Use PODTurbo to Upload 73,000 Gearbubble Products a Year to Amazon and Make a 5- or 6-Figure Passive Income

12 min read

If you want to make print-on-demand sales on Amazon, the easiest way to do it is to upload tons of print-on-demand products to this massive online marketplace.

Some of you might think it’s better to focus on quality over quantity. “Don’t spam the marketplace!”

But for as long as I’ve been working in the print-on-demand business, I’ve found that most successful sellers have thousands of products in their stores.

Sure, some of them have made phenomenal sales with a few products, but I’ve seen only a few in this category.

Most people who say they focus on quality end up uploading just a few supposedly “high-quality” products and exit the market after they make few or zero sales.

Then they say, ‘Print-on-demand is dead!’ or ‘This business model doesn’t work.’

This is just plain funny. I see new sellers crushing sales in the marketplaces every single year.

Many sellers in Thailand sold tons of bracelets and coffee mugs in the past Q4, and most of them started building their print-on-demand business in early 2022.

Print-on-Demand is dead? We’re far from that.

In this article, I’ll show you how to use PODTurbo, a print-on-demand automation tool, to upload 73,000 Gearbubble products a year to Amazon.

To upload all those products, you’ll need to work for only 1-2 months (or less).

After that, PODTurbo will schedule and upload 200 products a day – or over 70,000 products a year – to your Amazon account.

That’s right. Work for around 1-2 months, then let the system do the rest for the entire year.

Once you have this many products in your Amazon account, you’ll be able to make a 5- 6-figure passive income from Amazon every year.

Please note that your sales performance will also depend on factors like the quotes and designs you use, your product titles, keywords, and descriptions of your products.

But I’ll make sure you’ll be able to handle all of these elements.

Okay, let’s get started!

The BIG Picture

So, your goal is to upload 73,000 products a year to Amazon. The number seems huge, so let me break it down to a smaller number.

Uploading 73,000 products a year means uploading 200 products a day. PODTurbo will do this work after you upload your products to the system.

In this guide, I’ll show you how to upload around 2,000 products a day (2,200 to be exact) to PODTurbo quickly.

Creating 2,000 products and uploading them to PODTurbo can be accomplished in 3-4 hours (or less) if you’re familiar with the process.

At this rate, you’ll need to work for roughly 37 days to upload all those products to PODTurbo.

If you work harder, like 7-8 hours a day, you can do this work in just 18-19 days.

But let’s shoot for only 2,000 products a day.

You’ll need only 3-4 hours a day to get there.

Complete the Basic Setup in PODTurbo

Before you upload any products to PODTurbo, make sure you complete all the basic setup tasks.

There are three main things you need to do:

  • Connect Amazon to PODTurbo
  • Set a Daily Upload Limit
  • Update the Product Descriptions (important)

Let me walk you through all these steps.

  1. Connect Amazon to PODTurbo

To upload a product to Amazon, you need to connect your Amazon account to PODTurbo.

Note: you’ll want an Amazon Pro Seller account, which costs $39.99 a month. The free seller plan doesn’t have access to the Amazon API, unfortunately.

Go to the Store Connect page and connect Amazon to PODTurbo.

Just click the “Connect” button below the Amazon logo on this page and follow the steps on Amazon to allow PODTurbo to upload a product to your Amazon store.

Once you’re finished, you can click the “Test Post” button to check if PODTurbo uploads a test product to Amazon.

After clicking the button, wait 5-10 minutes for Amazon to process the test product. If PODTurbo uploads a product to your Amazon account, move on to the next step.

  1. Set a Daily Upload Limit

In this step, you’ll set the number of products you want PODTurbo to upload to your Amazon store.

Once you’ve uploaded tons of products to PODTurbo, the system will schedule times to upload them to your Amazon account based on the number you insert here.

If your Amazon account is new, I recommend uploading ten products daily. Once you start making sales, you can slowly increase this number.

If your Amazon account is old enough (like 2-3 months and made some sales) and has made some sales, you can upload 100 or 200 products a day.

There’s no exact number. You just have to try uploading products to Amazon and see when it starts to limit your uploading ability.

If Amazon limits your uploading ability, decrease your number of daily uploads. You can increase it slowly later when your account is old enough.

We’re going to upload tons of products to Amazon, so make sure to apply for the GTIN Exemption, which enables you to upload products without UPC codes.

If you don’t apply for the GTIN Exemption, you’ll need to buy UPC codes for every product you plan to upload. This is very expensive.

So, it’s best to apply for the GTIN Exemption. You can do it here: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gtinx/browser

Apply for the Home and Kitchen, and Office Products categories.

Then, check “Amazon UPC Exemption Enabled” in PODTurbo. Now you’ll be able to upload tons of products without UPC codes to Amazon.

Okay, that’s all for this step.

  1. Update Product Descriptions (important)

This step is critical. It will determine the quality of your product listings on Amazon.

To get a good ranking on Amazon, you need great product descriptions and product features.

According to Helium10, the following are necessary elements of your product description and features:

  • 150+ characters in each bullet point
  • The first letter of each bullet point is capitalized
  • Bullet points are not in all caps and contain no icons
  • 1000+ characters in description or A+ content

We provide product descriptions and features for all products, but to make them more powerful, you should update them to make them your own.

You can go to the Category Template to edit the product description.

You can also insert {NICHE} in the product description and features. The system will replace {NICHE} with the niche you use when creating a product in PODTurbo.

For example, if you use “Engineer” as the niche when you create a product, the system will replace {NICHE} with this word in the product description and features.

It’s important to insert {NICHE} a few times in your product descriptions and features because it will help your product get a better ranking for different keywords.

So, spend time building your product descriptions and features. It’s VERY important.

What Products To Upload

You can upload many Gearbubble products from PODTurbo.

But to help you sell more easily, here’s a list of products that sell well and are easy to create designs for:

  • Coffee Mugs (Design size: 3000×3500 px)
  • Shot Glasses (Design size: 3000×3500 px)
  • Travel Mugs (Design size: 3000×3500 px)
  • Candles (Design size: 900×600 px)

As you can see, the designs for coffee mugs, shot glasses, and travel mugs are the same size, so you can use one design to create three products.

The candle requires a different design size, but it’s a top-selling product. If you have the time, you should upload candles to your Amazon store.

Let’s say you choose to upload equal quantities of these four products and upload 73,000 products in total. You’ll have:

  • 18,250 Coffee Mugs
  • 18,250 Shot Glasses
  • 18,250 Travel Mugs
  • 18,250 Candles

I chose these four products because they’re cheap, easy to sell, and the designs for them are easy to create.

The products also gender-blind, so people can buy and give them to anyone.

You’ll be able to sell a lot of this stuff. And when you sell a lot, Amazon will trust your account more and give you a better ranking for the other products in your store.

Prepare Niches

There are two main categories that we’re going to create products for:

  • Family (50 niches)
  • Profession (500 niches)

Family is a category that has the most search volume on Amazon, but it’s very competitive. If you check for family-related gifts on Amazon, you’ll find many tens of thousands of products.

This category contains niches like mom, dad, son, daughter, granddaughter, grandson, and so on.

Professions have lower competition, but also a lower search volume than the Family niche. But if you have winning products in the profession category, you’ll be able to get tons of traffic from the Family niche as well.

To make it easy for you to create products, I created a Google Sheet so you can copy all the niches inside the Family and Profession: PODTurbo Cheat Sheet

Simply copy the spreadsheet. You’ll need it later.

You’ll now have 550 niches in total.

Find Quotes

Now, it’s time to find quotes.

In this business model, I mostly use the Substituted Quote method to build quotes fast.

A Substituted Quote is basically a quote that allows you to replace a word in the quote with a niche keyword.

For example, if the main quote is “Keep Calm, I’m an Engineer”, I’ll replace Engineer with the names of other professional niches. For example:

  • Keep Calm, I’m an Architect.
  • Keep Calm, I’m a Bus Driver.
  • Keep Calm, I’m a Teacher.

And so on.

If you have 500 Professions and 50 niches in the Family category, you can build 550 quotes from this “Keep Calm” quote alone.

Try to find a quote you can use for both the Profession and Family categories. (So, like the quote above, you can also replace Engineer with Mom, Dad, and so on.)

If you want to create 18,250 coffee mugs, you need only 34 main quotes (18,250 coffee mugs from 550 niches).

Creating 34 main quotes won’t require much time. It will take 2 or 3 hours or less to find them.

Use those 34 main quotes combined with 550 niches in the Profession and Family category. You’ll now have over 18,250 quotes ready for your coffee mugs.

You can also use these 18,250 quotes for shot glasses, travel mugs, and candles.

Creating Designs

Next, it’s time to create designs.

As you see, the quotes we created in the previous step show a pattern:

“Keep Calm, I’m an Engineer”
“Keep Calm, I’m a Teacher”
“Keep Calm, I’m a Nurse”

The designs you put on your products don’t need to be complex. They’re easy to create, too.

We’ll create a main design, like this:

And then add the NICHE word like this:

Or this:

Just use the same design and change the NICHE word in the quote.

You might need to adjust the size of the space in the template because each niche word will have a different number of characters.

This way, you can create designs very quickly.

When I got started, I hired a graphic designer.

I thought it would take forever to create 500-1000 designs a day, so I hired someone to do it for me.

But there are plenty of tools out there you can use to generate designs like this in just a few minutes.

In fact, you can create 550 simple designs from 550 quotes in just 10 minutes (not including the processing time).

Watch my video on how to do it here:

Please note that the designs in this video are for bracelets. If you want to create designs for coffee mugs or message cards, you’ll need to increase the size of the design.

Also, when you create a design, use a file name like 1.png, 2.png, 3.png, and so on. Keep them in the same Google Sheet or Excel file where you save your quotes.

Keep it like this:

This format will be helpful when you create a .CSV file to upload to PODTurbo.

Creating the CSV File

Okay. Now we have quotes and designs, so we’re almost ready to create and upload a .CSV file to PODTurbo.

  • Niches – READY
  • Quotes – READY
  • Designs – READY

But before creating our products, we need to prepare product titles and keywords.

When I create the product titles and keywords, I like making a template.

In a numbers game like POD, a template is critical because it helps you work extremely fast.

I acquired this skill years ago, when I was creating tons of niche websites and earning money from Google AdSense and Amazon affiliates.

The product titles and keywords we create will follow a pattern like this:

For the product title:

Example: Funny Mom Coffee Mug, World’s Best Mom, Inspiration Christmas Gifts for Mother from Daughter.

The Pattern: [ADJECTIVE] [NICHE] [PRODUCT TYPE], [QUOTE], [ADJECTIVE] [OCCASION] Gifts for [RECEIVE] from [SENDER]

This is an example of a product title and pattern. You can see that each one contains an:

  • Adjective
  • Niche
  • Product type
  • Quote
  • Occasion
  • Receiver
  • Sender

You can use this pattern to create tons of products FAST.

Consider this:

  • You have 1 pattern and 550 niches. You’ll be able to create 550 product titles FAST.
  • You have 1 pattern, 550 niches, and 4 products (coffee mugs, shot glasses, travel mugs and candles). You’ll be able to create 2,200 product titles FAST.

It’s the same for keywords.

We can create a pattern like this:

Example: Funny Mom Coffee Mug, Mom Coffee Mug, Coffee Mug for Mom, Gifts for Mom, Mom Gifts, Mom Gifts from Daughter

The Pattern: [ADJECTIVE] [NICHE] [PRODUCT TYPE], [NICHE] [PRODUCT TYPE], [PRODUCT TYPE] for [NICHE], Gifts for [NICHE], [NICHE] Gifts from [SENDER]

It’s the same method as the one you use when creating product titles.

We need to create a template from the pattern.

Once we understand the template concept, we can use Excel to do the work.

I know many people don’t like Excel, but trust me, it’s easier than you think.

You just need to know only three functions:

  • Copy
  • Drag
  • Combine

If you know how to do these three things, you’ll be able to create a product.

I’ve written a deep dive on CSV Tricks to Prepare Print-on-Demand Product Info for Fast Uploads to Laser Chili.

Click here to read it .. (It’s only a 10-minute read).

Once you finish reading this, try creating product titles and keywords using the quote and designs you prepared in the previous step.

So, now you have:

  • Product Titles
  • Keywords
  • Designs
  • Design Filenames
  • Product Types

Now, it’s time to upload products!

Upload the .CSV File to PODTurbo

As I said, we’re going to create coffee mugs, shot glasses, travel mugs, candles, and jewelry message cards with designs for 500 niches in the Profession category and 50 niches in the Family category.

You can use a single .CSV file to upload a maximum of 300 products PODTurbo .

This is the way I like to do the work.

I divide the 550 niches in the Profession and Family categories into 270 niches for each .CSV:

  1. CSV with 1-275 Niches for Coffee Mugs
  2. CSV with 276-550 Niches for Coffee Mugs
  3. CSV with 1-275 Niches for Shot Glasses
  4. CSV with 276-550 Niches for Shot Glasses
  5. CSV with 1-275 Niches for Travel Mugs
  6. CSV with 276-550 Niches for Travel Mugs
  7. CSV with 1-275 Niches for Candles
  8. CSV with 276-550 Niches for Candles

The designs for coffee mugs, shot glasses, and travel mugs are all the same size, so you can use the same designs for these products.

Candles require a different size, so you need to spend time creating new designs, but it won’t take that long if you use the automated process I showed above.

At the moment, my wife creates designs for me, and I spend less than an hour completing 8 files containing 2,200 products.

I normally spend just a few hours preparing enough products for PODTurbo to upload in a month.

To make it easier for you, I created a .CSV file for every product.

Click here to see and copy the template.

(There are separated tabs for coffee mugs, shot glasses, and travel mugs.)

In Google Sheets, you can click File > Make a Copy to copy my sheet and edit the sheet for your products.

Here’s what you have to insert in the sheet:

  • Product Titles
  • Keywords

If you already have product titles and keywords, it’s easy to fill in this sheet.

Once you’ve finished filling in everything, export it as a .CSV file and upload it to PODTurbo.

Upload your .CSVs with the designs you created, and let PODTurbo do the rest.

Conclusion

Okay, that’s it.

As you can see, it’s not difficult to create and upload tons of products to Amazon when you use PODTurbo.

In the beginning, it might be a bit difficult to learn all the processes and fill out the .CSV file.

But once you’re familiar with the process, you’ll be able to do the work quickly – and can save tons of money by not hiring a VA!

Once you have tons of your products in your Amazon store, you’ll start seeing those passive sales roll in. If you have many winning products, you might make 5 or 6 figures in annual sales!

Remember, this is a NUMBERS GAME, so keep uploading new products to your store!

Let’s crush it!
