Are you ready to bring your AI app out into the world?
In this lesson, I’ll share the game plan that I (and my friends and partners) used to earn money from our AI apps — even if they were just "another" app. You can do this too!
But first, let’s talk about a common false belief.
After finishing your AI app, you might think, "My app is too simple," or "It’s just like other apps, so why would anyone use or pay for it?"
This is a FALSE BELIEF.
Let me prove it with a story about my friend.
He built another AI book writer.
Yep, another one in a crowded market.
So, how did he succeed?
The answer is simple: He didn’t try to compete.
Instead, he built the app, used it himself, and shared his experiences with the world while building a following.
Some people liked his experience-sharing and decided to try his app.
He offered a free trial and, after that ended, a one-time $10 upgrade to unlock all the features, plus a mini-course on how to use the app to create a high-quality book.
Here’s what he WhatsApp’d me:
This was eye-opening!
Even though it was just another AI book writer, he still made money from it.
It wasn’t a huge amount, but it was SUPER EASY to do, and he built the app in just a few hours!
Here’s the first idea for bringing your AI app to the world:
- Build it
- Use it yourself
- Share your experiences (not the app itself, yet)
- Learn how to get the most out of it
- Offer a free trial
- Provide a low-cost upgrade + tips on how to use it best
Now, let me emphasize the key step that made this work:
Use it yourself.
Yes, you need to...
Eat your own dog food!
This means you should build an app that you actually use.
Don’t just build it to sell — because that won’t work.
Trust me, I’ve tried, and it always fails when I don’t use it myself.
Why? Because when you use it, you improve it. You learn its strengths and weaknesses, which helps you clearly explain and sell your AI app.
Plus, all your ideas come from your own tasks (especially if you’ve followed my lessons from Day 1).
The Rise of PODtomatic
If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I co-founded PODtomatic, a SaaS that automates 99.99% of your print-on-demand business (leaving 0.01% for configuration, lol).
One of the best strategies we used to drive sales for PODtomatic was giving away "Jesse PODMan" to my awesome followers.

I explained what Jesse PODMan is and showed them how to use it to get the best out of my AI app.

- How I Use Jesse PODMan to Write Amazon Product Descriptions
The funnel was simple.
I built Jesse PODMan for myself and then kept improving it.
Once it was solid, I introduced it to my followers and gave it away for free. I even ran Facebook ads to promote it.
After people used Jesse PODMan, they saw how AI could help with their POD business.
Then, I led them to the next step: buying PODtomatic to automate everything.
This campaign worked better for me than traditional book funnels, which I find boring, even though they still work for some.
I think there’s no need to recap this since the steps are almost the same as what my friend did with his AI book writer. :)
But here’s another key point:
Trial, Error, Error, Error, Better, and Success!
What if I told you your first AI app might not make money?
It could, but it might not, and I don’t want to spread false hope.
So, let me be honest. You might need to go through a loop of trial and error, fixing errors, and trying again until you succeed.
Even though I’ve been in the SaaS business for over 5 years, I still go through this loop. But with more experience, the time it takes to exit the loop gets shorter. :)
To succeed with this game plan, you need a STRONG FOCUS.
Don’t give up too easily!
Congratulations! The mini-course is unofficially over. :)
I wish you great success with your AI app (SaaS) business!
Tomorrow, I’ll send you the last email in this mini-course.
If you feel deep down that the AI app (SaaS) business is the journey you don’t want to miss, keep an eye out for my email tomorrow. Don’t miss the boat!
See you tomorrow!
