Hello,
Sorry I haven’t written in a while.
Last week was Mother’s Day in Thailand, and like every year, I went to visit my grandma in the north. It’s our family tradition.
Everyone came home, my parents, brothers, uncles, aunts, the house was packed.
There weren’t enough rooms to sleep, so I stayed at a hotel about 30 minutes away.
That night, around 9 PM, I was driving back to the hotel.
It was quiet. The road was narrow, like most roads in the countryside.
I was about 10 minutes away from the hotel when I stopped at a traffic light.
Green came on. I slowly started moving.
A car ran the red light, speeding right in front of us.
My wife said, “Lucky we weren’t moving fast — that could’ve hit us.”
I kept going. Carefully.
Then from the corner of my right eye…
Another car.
Also speeding.
Also ran the red light.
I yanked the steering wheel left to dodge.
Too late.
They hit the front right of our car and flew off the road.
My front bumper was gone. The front side looked damaged.
But we were alive.
The other car’s passengers were okay too.
The police came and said we were very, very lucky.
They pointed to where the car hit us — just 80 centimeters from where I was sitting.
If I hadn’t turned, that car would’ve hit the driver’s seat dead-on.

Here’s what the car looked like after the crash.

The car that hit us.
I’m still shaking when I think about it.
Luckily, my family was nearby and came to help. Another blessing.
But all this made me realize something…
Life is short.
Even if you eat healthy, exercise, work hard, take good care of yourself… life can disappear in a second.
So if you’re holding back on something…
If you’re waiting for the “perfect time”…
If you haven’t told someone you love them lately…
Please don’t wait.
Do what matters.
Don’t take life too seriously.
Hug your loved ones today. Just because you can.
Because tomorrow? It’s never guaranteed.
Anyway, I just wanted to share this.
Maybe it’s the reminder you didn’t know you needed.
I’m lucky I get to write this email today.
It’s good to be alive.
Talk soon,
Bank K.
P.S. I’m 100% okay now. I’ve been back to work this week. I’ll send you an update on everything soon ❤️
